The second noble truth of Buddhism reminds us that the cause of our suffering is our cravings (attachments, addictions, desires).  Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk and teacher, explains that the energy from mindfulness meditation “allows us to look deeply at our body, feelings, perceptions, mental formations, and consciousness and see clearly what our real needs are, so we will not drown in the sea of suffering.” The founders of Alcoholics Anonymouse, Bill W. and Dr. Bob, realized the importance of meditation and included in the 11th Step.
